Women’s Union Although many of our members would regard themselves as Senior Citizens, we generally have about 30 ladies at our meetings, whatever the weather. Our overall membership is increasing, and we keep in touch with those who are unwell or are now too frail to attend on a regular basis. We have a mixed programme of speakers and ‘home-grown’ sessions, some on serious topics, some designed simply to entertain. We also welcome non-members to some of our meetings where appropriate. In keeping with the Objects of our organisation, a constant ingredient of each meeting is a simple act of worship, and usually we have special services of Communion in Holy Week and on Ascension Day.

A highlight of our year is our Carol Service, which sees our members eager to read and share the Christmas message with the many ‘guests’. We do love parties! so we start the year with a party in the hall, and in the summer we generally have a garden party. In recent years we have enjoyed the hospitality of our Team Rector (Rev. Simon Tyndall) our associate minister (Rev. Dave Kilmister) and Whitehall garden centre. Just to remind you: We meet on alternate Thursdays at 2.15pm in St. Paul’s Hall. Come and join us! |
